FAQs

Process & Setup

  • As each client is unique, we like to meet with you, check out your space, and suggest a design. Once the design has been chosen, we will choose the materials for the roof, door, heater, and exterior finish together. There are many options available and we like to think outside the box! Once this has all been chosen, we will give you an approximate completion time and price. The contract will be written up, We require 50% of the build price at this time, and the rest upon completion. Once the build starts, we will set up a Whatsapp group to send update pictured and ask questions.

  • We deliver all of our saunas personally. We will work together to plan how to get the saunas in their final home. On properties that have a lot of space, we have the tools to get it where it needs to go! For tricky spaces, we have used a crane to hoist it over homes, this is a great option. Once the sauna is set, it's time for the electrician to hook up the heater. This needs to be done by a certified electrician and we have some great people we can recommend. Once it's hooked up, there is a 3 hour burn off process to burn all the oils and dust off of the heater and rocks. This is simply done by turning the heater on and opening the door. Then it's time to enjoy!

  • Absolutely! Give us a call and we can arrange a price for moving!

Heating & Electrical

  • We install Homecraft heaters in all of our saunas. We chose to team up with Homecraft because they are Canadian made and manufactured in Surrey, BC. They are one of the only companies that offer a 2 year warranty, as well as a stylish design. We will show you options and pricing during our site visit.

  • Most of our heaters are 7.5kW or 9kW, they require a 40 or 50 amp breaker. We will look at your electrical panel on our site visit to determine your needs. Most of the heaters require a #8 copper cable suitable for outdoor use.

  • In Manitoba, running your electric sauna heater will cost around 80 cents per hour.

  • Wood fired sauna heaters are a great relaxing option but the insurance companies beg to differ. In Manitoba, wood fired heaters are only permitted to be installed at least 80 feet from any structure. Check with your insurer for more information.

Maintenance & Warranty

  • Saunas are low maintenance. For the interior, we recommend lightly sanding down the benches and floor with a sanding sponge in spring and fall as well as well as removing and re-staking the rocks for better airflow. The interior of the sauna is left natural to prevent any offgassing that would occur due to the high heat. With a cedar exterior, we recommend treating it with a Thompsons clear waterseal annually.

  • Our saunas come with a 1 year warranty, and a 2 year warranty on the heater.
